Question:

My steering wheel shakes when I drive?

It usually starts when I hit about 60 MPH. I don't think its because I need an alignment or balancing because I just put new rims on my car. My old ones were bent. Could there be another reason and how much would it cost to get fixed? I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS

by the way. It only has 57K miles on it.

  1. Could be a bad tie rod end or ball joints.Have it checked by a reputable garage.

  2. tires need balancing or they are faulty

  3. Alignment would not cause the vibration, your tires need balancing.

  4. get your wheeles balanced for about ten dollars

  5. OK rule basics out get your wheels balaced again, and while they've got the wheel off get them to check you brake disks as if you have a cracked disk sometimes you get the same shudder...if they find nothing out of the ordinary i'd be getting the alignment checked...

  6. It sounds like your tires need ballanced or your steering linkage needs to be inspected for problems. Another thing to check is the condition of your tires.
