My sister's friend stole her baby's name!?

My sister has been set on using the name Mila (My-luh) Rose for her daughter, after our grandma), who is due in a few months, obviously she told her friends and family about the name. Her friend had a daughter the other day and instead of the baby name she planned on, Sophia Grace, she decided to name her baby Mila Rose.

My sister is obviously mad. What would you do in this situation? Any other baby name suggestions? She is now thinking about Zoey and Maddy.

I really think she should still name the baby mila rose! Just because her friend named her baby that, the chances are they may not be friends in a couple of months

i wouldn't be friends with her if it was my friend did that to me!

That was just wrong of your sister's friend. If I was her, I would definitely let her know how mad I was about it. I love the name Abigail Elizabeth, or Zoey Elizabeth. My husband was great at picking out names. He named our first daughter, Lailie Ranee. Our second daughter, due next month, is going to be named Mileena Rai.

Please still name your daughter 'Mila Rose' as it is a great honor to your grandmother. Your family and friends know you had planned on this name, and just because a friend was so insensitive, don't you change your mind.

You may not even continue a life-long friendship with this girl, so does it matter if both girls have this name? But I would be sure to comment to your friend that it is such a coincidence that both girls are named after your grandma!!!

I would still name my kid what I had planned lol.  I doubt they will be friends for too long if the friend is like that, so it isn't like the kids would have to worry about having the same name when they are older.

NO she should KEEP the name Mila Rose as she thought of it first, s***w her trashy friend, it has scentimental value and i don't think she will be able to find a better name for it. She should confront her friend!

Good.  Her kid is going to go through life explaining that her name is MY la not Mee la.  Now you can name your baby Sophia Grace which is a beautiful combination that nobody will have trouble spelling or pronouncing.

I agree with Pamela. I would hyphenate, and go with Mila-Rose. That sounds really pretty.

And that was a really dirty thing for that "friend" to do. I had chosen a name for my daughter, and then found out that a friend of mine wants to name her daughter that, so I changed the name. She had a really good reason to use the name, just like your sister. There are sooooo many pretty names out there, the friend should have picked something else.

Is your sister even pregnant?  You don't mention whether she is.  That was very uncool of her friend, but if your sister wasn't even pregnant yet when the friend used it, then the name was fair game.

I don't think there is much you can do. A person I used to know shares some of the same friends with me and I swear that she liked the name I planned for my daughter which is Olivia. So she named her baby the same. I am glad is didn't tell anyone her midle name, which is from my grandmother also.

That's why I didn't really share that much the names that I had planned for me children. Especially my youngest, (Olivia). The names were special and each one of my three are named after someone.

I say your sister keeps the name she planned and obviously her friends isn't that good of a friend if she did that. But at least your sister's baby's name has a meaning and isn't just stolen from someone.
