Muslims living in non muslim countries?

ahahah yea. like this one time around christmas, we went shopping and u know how they have those decorative balls for the christmas trees, my brother who was like 6 told me" hey dont they look like grenades. and this lady omg.. her face i was dying on the inside. it was so funny it was a mixture of fear and anger. i still laugh at it.

*sigh* I'm not muslim, but I've seen it. Especially just after 9-11 co-workers were skittish about the people that work at the 7-11 nearby.. (no joke... IT's a stereotype w/validity) ..

  

  When overhearing them worrying about the supernice people that run the store, I stepped in and told them: "You've got NOTHING to worry about... They're not arab..OR Muslim.. .They're East Indian you freaking DOOFS." It's a racial stereotype now... But you have to remember that most arab muslims are NOT terrorists..  But most terrorists ARE arab muslims. It's a sad fact that you'll have to accept and overcome for now.

hey peace09 u took my story haha both of those things happened to me and the six flags one i was with u.

But yeah i've had a lot of people ask me funny questions haha

and a couple of days after six flags i was with my friend at in n out and this other little girl asked her mom what's on our head and her mom told her "sh" and got embarrassed it was really funny.

i guess only the little kids are brave enough to ask even though everybody's thinkin it ahaha

Hmmm what is there to love about that....? I get the odd looks, however I smile even behind my Niqaab,  my eyes sparkle, and what do you know most people smile back and ask how I am, while some others say f** this and f** that, nevertheless does not affect me.

Aww dude, u should see me and my friends in school here in the U.S.

I have this one friend always making a small joke saying "terrorist," but I just laugh and all of my other friends who hear it (christians) tell him to stop being racist.

Man, do I love my non--Muslim friends; they're not afraid of me.

Actually, they are when I take of my shirt and they see my buffed muscular body. lolz.

never happened to me.......its only been 5 years since i first came to the U.S.....and i began wearing the hijaab 2 years back...so i guess i didn't look like a Muslim.....

and its comedy! hahaha.

this summer my mosques youth group

went to six flags and we prayed right infront of the

ride "Goliath" and while we were praying i heard a little

boy go "mommy why are they doing that?!"

hahaha and there was a whole grip of us so it made

a "scene" hahaha

one time somebody at school asked me

"were you born with that on?"

i laughed in his face then explained how

no one can be born with a scarf on their

head.

You are mistaken. When people look at you differently...it's not fear that they are displaying. It's dislike. No one is afraid of you...they dislike you. Easy mistake to make I guess.

Yep, i get it all the time; and the hardest part is that I go to a public school here.. I hate it - especially because I live in a little town where there isn't much diversity... Yeesh America needs to grow up -__-

Now that you mention it tho, i do get some pretty ignorant yet funny questions from the non muslims...

i.e. Wow, do you ever feel like you are gonna pass out wearing jeans in the summer? (since its haram to show our leg/arms) LOL! Do i get a laugh or what!

it has never happened 2 me....................................I live in an arab country(Saudi Arabia).I am afraid if I don't wear abaya and hijab!!!.......Actually I am an Indian but I didn't face this problem from India also.

Yeah, 'cos I wear hijab and jilbab and once I was on a flight to Germany and had to get up during the flight to get our black suitcase out from the overhead luggage compartment 'cos it had the nappies in it and my niece needed a nappy change, and as I was walking down towards the toilets at the back of the plane, everyone s**+tted it so bad, their faces were a picture. It was like they thought I was about to blow up any minute or something. We were the only Muslims/Asians on the plane.
