Question:

Murano dashboard engine oil pressure warning light

We changed the oil before it was due and didn't reset the sensor on the dash. Today, a picture on the navigation system said that we needed a pit crew for oil but I know that we have many miles left according to the sticker from jiffy lube, so I didn't worry. Tonight, I drove through an unavoidable puddle, about 7 or 8 inches, very slowly, and my engine oil pressure warning light came on the dash. Is the warning on the navigation system linked to the light on the dash, or do I have water in my engine? I haven't checked the oil level yet, I just parked it and came in. Has anyone else had a similar experience with their Murano? I love this car.

  1. the "pit" display on the navi unit and thedash warning light are seperate.

check the oil level before you start/ drive it next.

probably unrelated to the puddle, I have seen alot of oil leaks at the oil cooler seal just show up , on the 3.5liter engines.

  2. There is a booklet in the glove box please read the maintenance reminder section then you can learn how to reset the maintenance interval. Plus in a hour or two of extra reading you will learn how to program the garage opener set the clock and set the automatic drivers seat and mirror positions and tilt and slide seats to exit. Your car is complex enough to deserve better maintenance at the Nissan dealership. And Nissan Technicians need work too!
