Hi, I'm doing some work that requires me to list certain service providers in Mexico. My boss wants me to list providers in Cabo San Lucas, but I'm finding providers in San Jose del Cabo and Los Cabos, too. Are all these places the same? If not, what's the difference? E.g. is one of them a city, one a town nearby, one a state, etc.? Or are they three completely different places?

I appreciate this!

  1. Hola. I live here so I can explain.  There are two towns here in Cabo, one is called Cabo San Lucas, the other is called San Jose del Cabo.  They are about 20 minutes apart from each other separated by a highway we call the corridor.  SJD is closer to the airport but is quieter and quaint...CSL is larger with more stores, restaurants and crazy nightlife.   People began referring to the whole area as Los Cabos.

This is all located at the most southern tip of the Baja Pennisula, the state is called Baja California Sur.     The capital of this state is La Paz, about 2 hour north of the Los Cabos area.

    Hope this helps!
