http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 to come good against Italy in their quarterfinal tie at the European Championships. Maradona argued in his latest remarks that England have a better squad with talented players complimented
by a superior domestic club structure which works to the England national team’s benefit.
However England are still seen as underdogs in their tie against Italy as the Three Lions have been defensive in their approach so far under Roy Hodgson. On the other hand, Italy have shown signs of offensive intent especially
through the likes of Pirlo and Cassano, who have been standout performers for the Azzuri.
Not only that, Di Natalie and Balotelli have also come to the party and if one of them starts against England, they will surely cause problems. Alternatively, England have based their game on the counter attack and now with Rooney’s
return to full action, they have a player who can change the game on his own up front.
Maradona said, “For England to advance to the semi-finals will be a validation of their talented players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 and their superior club league structure. The Italians will
have to rely on their own talents like Andrea Pirlo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-De-Rossi-c10112 to reach an unexpected semi-final.”
He added, “Italy's best player, Pirlo, has been superb. Like an orchestra conductor every ball goes to him and he distributes it with flair and intelligence.”
It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in these two distinctive teams. Italy will most probably have their fair share of the possession as England will try to hit them on the counter attack but such a strategy can back
fire if the Italians get an early goal as then England will have to come out and play attackingly in order to keep themselves in the European Championships.
