Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has revealed that he believes his side have had incredible, season changing injuries this term.
With the season that the Trotters have had, Coyle couldn’t help but feel a little annoyed at Manchester City boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s complains about injury problems. It’s true that City’s injuries do not compare to the Wanderers’ disability due to missing
players.
Two of Owen Coyle’s best men, Stuart Holden and Chung Young-lee have been out since the 2011-2012 season began. It will be a huge boost for the Trotters if either of the two manages to return at all this season, having been sidelined with long term injuries.
With many of the Bolton Wanderers players having returned, Coyle had to deal with ten major injuries at one point in the season. The injuries included leg breaks and cruciate ligament problems that left his squad with some of the key players.
The Scottish manager felt it was unfair of Manchester City to complain about their nonexistent problems, especially after comparing them to that of Bolton Wanderers’. He also believed the media had been biased in their reporting of the injuries of both the
sides.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“We have had so many top players out injured it is incredible. People talk about Manchester City and the personnel problems they are having. We have been coping with that since the start of the season.
Not a word is said about us though because we are not as big a story.
But if anything, it hits us harder because at our level we simply just cannot pluck out another Stuart Holden like the bigger clubs might be able to do.”
Despite the injuries in the past, Coyle revealed he was aware that his side had to focus on returning to winning ways in the English Premier League so they could avoid relegation at the end of the season. Coyle urged his side to step up their efforts to
return to match winning form.
He continued:
"We know what we have got to do. Come the end of the season we must not be in the bottom three.”
