M1 Carbine (auto ordnance) or Springfield XD 9 subcompact?

Question

I know they're two different guns completely. I'm not a gun collector or anything but I do want two guns total. I have a Walther PPK/S already (love it) and was going to get an XD 9 subcompact just to have two guns.

However the store I was buying it at just got in a new M1. I love WWII guns so I was considering picking this up instead of the XD.

Out of the two, which would you buy?

Definately get the M1, but you may want to think about getting the carbine from CMP rather than the Auto Ordnance. While Kahr's Auto Ordnance carbine is a new commercial carbine, the ones at CMP are true USGI, generally more reliable, and will only continue to appreciate in value.

You have a handgun, get the carbine, but, as has already been suggested, get it from the CMP

Go with the M1, the XD 9 will be around. The M1 may not be. Depending on who gets into office. As far as being a gun collector, two to ten guns, does not make you a collector. 40 or more does, ha! ha! Guns can aways be looked at as an investment. Depending on what they are. Good Luck with your choice!................One other thing don't go through CMP ,  a lot of the what you see is not what you will get. Get the Auto Ordnance, you will be a lot happier with it.

XDs are nice, but I'd snatch up that M1 in a heartbeat. They might not be around for much longer. XD is here to stay.
