London hotel pay on departure only!?

I am staying in london and only have a maestro card. what hotels can i pay on checkout instead of paying full amount on arrival?

  1. A pay on departure policy  means the hotel would have to trust that you had the money to pay and were willing to do so.

    I may be wrong, but I can't see them taking a risk like that.


  2. Most hotels will take an imprint only of your credit card on your arrival. Then if you departed without paying they would get your money anyway. Otherwise they will enter your credit card as usual on your departure and the payment date will be on your final day.

  3. It depends on hotel policy. Some charge on check-in and some on check-out.

    I recently went to the Isle of Wight and paid fully on check-in, but when I went to Dublin earlier in the year I paid on check-out.
