Lewis Hamilton’s father Anthony Hamilton defends aggressive driving of son – Formula 1 news
McLaren’s Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton gets another round of applause on his aggressive driving in the last two races of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
This time his dad Anthony Hamilton, currently the manager of Force India’s Scottish driver Paul di Resta, has said that the Brit’s driving style in the Canadian Grand Prix was the same as it was in the 2008 world championship where he won.
Anthony also said that Hamilton will not change his driving style for the rest of his career which is a good thing.
Anthony stated, “He just has to remain how he is, carry on driving how he is driving. The way he drives now is how he drove to win the World Championship. It's just that now he's at the front rather than the back, and that's why everyone has started noticing.”
He further commented, “It was just motor racing. In Formula One you only have a split second to make those decisions, whether they are right or wrong, you take a decision and you have to go with it. At the end of the day if we could all see the future maybe
we would do things differently.”
Lewis Hamilton has been involved in more than five accidents in the last two races of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
In Monaco, the Brit was penalised twice in the race for making contact with Felipe Massa and Pastor Maldonado. Moreover, Hamilton was also responsible for damaging the front wing of Michael Schumacher’s car in the very first lap of the race.
In Montreal, Hamilton’s race was reduced to just eight laps when he hit the wall after trying to overtake his teammate Jenson Button and punctured his left rear tyre.
Only this time, he escaped a penalty but the former Formula 1 driver Nicky Lauda said that he should be taught a lesson before he does something stupid.
Nevertheless, justice was served as the Brit finds himself two places down in the championship hunt and is now currently fourth on the table, 76 points behind Sebastian Vettel.
