Kansas City Chiefs CEO and Chairman Clark Hunt passionate about winning Super Bowl – NFL News
It has been a long time since the Kansas City Chiefs won the last Super Bowl title and no one can predict the timeframe for the title’s return to the city, but the franchise’s chairman and chief executive officer (CEO), Clark Hunt, wants his team to win
the title as soon as possible.
Chiefs won the Super Bowl title back in 1969. In the 1993 season, they came close to getting a shot at the title, but were defeated in the conference championship game by Buffalo Bills.
Since then they have qualified for the playoffs six times, but were unable to win even a single game in the postseason.
Their last playoff appearance was registered in the 2010 season in which they lost the wildcard game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Their last season’s performance was pretty humiliating as they were able to win only seven games and lost nine to end the season at the bottom of the American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The loss was attributed to the injuries to their several
key players.
Meanwhile, Hunt has remained passionate about his team and its chances of winning the title. According to the details present on the team’s official website, he is once again optimistic about the team’s chances.
Hunt said:
“What I can say passionately is that I want to win a Super Bowl.”
He added:
“It’s been a long time since Kansas City has enjoyed the celebration that goes with winning a Super Bowl and I desperately want to win the Lamar Hunt Trophy and then the Vince Lombardi Trophy, which my dad named.”
When asked about when the Super Bowl trophy can come to the city, Hunt said:
“I’m always impatient. I want to win today and tomorrow, and it can never come soon enough. I’ve also been around the business long enough to know that you have to have some patience and if you lose your patience it will result in mistakes that set you back.”
In the 2012 season, Chiefs are going to face serious challenge from other teams of the division, but they will have to be more focused against the Denver Broncos who made it to the playoffs last season.
Broncos have acquired services of veteran quarterback, Peyton Manning, and are well on the course of reaching the playoffs for the second straight time.
