James DeGale gets a European title fight against Piotr Wilczewski – Boxing news
Former British Super Middleweight champion James DeGale will step in the ring against the WBO world number three Piotr Wilczewski in September 2011 for the European title.
The Chunky, James DeGale, lost his British title on points against the 23-year-old Brit, George Groves, who is currently managed and trained by David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye in May 2011 and therefore he is very excited upon getting a chance to regain his image.
The 25-year-old DeGale, who has won 10 of his 11 fights including 8 by the way of a knockout, told the media he is very happy, as he has again got a chance to clinch the title. He added he is training very hard for the fight and by September 2011, he is
going to be in a fantastic form.
“Challenging for the European title is a fantastic opportunity to get myself back in the big picture in my first fight back,” said DeGale. “I've been hard in training since my last fight and I'm ready to box tomorrow if I need to, come September I'll be
in great shape.”
In the end, the Nottingham’s pugilist commented on his loss against Groves. He said he still believes he was robbed. However, on the same note he remarked he is a positive minded person and can shrug off such things easily.
DeGale claimed he is going to win the bout in style, as he is in the best shape of his life.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “The fight with Groves is in the past, I still believe I beat him, but I'm a positive person and now I'm focused on the future and a win will put me in a great position for a world title. Now I've got to go out there,
do the business and win it in style.”
The DeGale-Wilczewski bout will be a promising one as Wilczewski has also lost only one fight out of his 30. However, let’s see if DeGale can see him off in the ring as he has claimed.
