JB Were Australian Masters; Three-day recap

The JB Were Australian Masters have stepped in the final round with Adam Bland in the lead. For the ones who have missed the first three days, here is the recap of the entire session.
The tournament kicked off on the 11th of November at the Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne. The event, carrying $1.35 million was defended by Tiger Woods, but the veteran failed to continue the impression on the par-72
course.
Adam Bland and Alistair Presnell took the first day lead by scoring 6-under-65. Adam Bland kicked off from the front nine and parred all the holes except the par-3 8th. The player exerted time and energy in understanding
the needs of the course. However, he wrapped the first half with one-under-par. The next session was a complete detonation of energy. The Australian reeled the second birdie of the day on the 13th
hole and with the gap of a green; Bland fired four successive birdies on the back nine.
Alistair Presnell decided to take a share in the lead and teed off from the back nine to draft two birdies on his way to wrap the session with two- under-par. However, that was only a trailer of what was coming ahead. Presnell
carved three birdies on the 4th, 5th, and 6th hole to seal the first round of the JB Were Australian Masters with a magnificent eagle. Presnell surged past Bland, but could not keep up with the pace. He bogeyed the ninth hole and fell into a tie with Adam
Bland.
Meanwhile, the betting favourite Geoff Ogilvy smashed one-over in the first round with the help of four bogeys and three birdies. On the other hand, the former world number one gave an impressive performance in hunt of a debut
victory in the year 2010. Tiger Woods carved a round of two-under-par with the help of three birdies against one bogey.
The second round turned out to be trouble for most of the field except Sergio Garcia. The Spaniard put forward a classic attack in the presence of strong rain. He teed off from the outward holes and wrapped them with three birdies
out of which two were on the 17th and 18th.Garcia stroked three more birdies in  the front and produced his best score of the year.
Speaking to the press Garcia said, "I'm just trying to shoot the best score I can. Even though it was quite difficult with the conditions, it seemed like we were always making the right decisions. Put that with how I was hitting
the ball ... to be honest with you, that wasn't the lowest score I could have shot."
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods failed to match his earlier swings. The 34-year-old synchronised three birdies on the course, but lost them after carding four bogeys. He settled with a score of one-over-par. Commenting on his game Woods
said, “I wasn't quite as sharp with my irons. When the wind blows this hard, I tend to revert to my old motion. I struggled with that. It was a little more difficult than I thought it would be."
The third round started in the presence of torrential rains, but the tournament continued until Tiger Woods was done making a mess of his scores. The defending Champion drafted three birdies against three bogeys, but managed to
keep the score in the realms of par.
Despite all the odds, Adam Bland once again grabbed the lead, helped by four birdies. He was chased by Daniel Gaunt, who produced 68 in the third round to grab the second spot of the leader board.
Thats it for the recap of the JB Were Australian Masters, which took place at the Victoria Golf Club. The final round of the tournament will kick of tomorrow at 7.45am and it is tomorrow’s weather, which will decide the winner
of the $1.35 million purse.
