  1. She has stated time and time again she will never abdicate and if she did than Charles would inherit the throne. Unlike absolute monarchies where the Monarch can appoint someone as Crown Prince or his succesot, we have a strict set of rules on who can succeed. Prince Charles would either have to renounce his right to the throne or die for his son to succceed the Queen.
