Is my ear piercing infected?

about last week, i pierced my own earlobe (third) with a sewing needle, and i clean it about everyday, i also missed a day too. but anyways i cleaned the needle, the ear, the earring, everything like 5 times before piercing with antiseptic. (i couldn't find alcohol) anyways, it was a success piercing, but now when i clean it, it burns a little for liek 2 seconds, and when i look closely into the hole, where it got pierced is like red-ish pink-ish. it doesn't hurt on its own, but when i touch it and wiggle it around its a BIT sore. should i take it out? and IF you think it is infected what should i do? (my mom doesn't know and i don't want her to find out)

i got my third on my other ear done professionally(gun) and even when i wiggle it around that ones sore too, and burns when i clean it

  1. Over cleaning a piercing is bad and i can make it more infected then not cleaning it at all. So i would say clean it once a day and when its new like that its going to be tender and red-ish pink is normal its soar from being pierced, the skin is just irritated. Make sure your not allergic to the metal in your ear cause that can cause a really bad infection. It takes roughly 6 weeks for an ear piercing to heal so give it a while before you start to think you have an infection.

  2. i would take it out. when i got my ears pierced it got so badly infected i had to go to the ER! better safe than sorry.

  3. Ok, i pierced my own ear and had this EXACT issue.

Salt water 2-3 times a day.

Wash your hands before you touch it.

If it contues for another week, remove it.

Let it heal, and then get it done with a gun.

If possible, go to a chemist and ask the workers on what they reccomend. Sometimes you dont need to go to the doctor, and the chemist is the best option.

    Resist touching it too much.

  4. You just jammed metal through your ears a week ago.  They're going to be sore.  As long as it's not oozing a discolored puss, then you're probably fine.  Clean it 2-3 times a day with a sea salt solution or an anti-microbial soap (Satin or Provon are preferred, but Dial also works).  Don't touch it with dirty hands.  Stop wiggling it around.  That's only going to irritate it.  You shouldn't try to move it until it's moist from being cleaned.  That way any sort of normal crust will come off on its own rather than being ripped off when you're messing with it, which could cause bleeding and prolong the healing time.

For future reference, dipping something in alcohol or antiseptic doesn't mean that it's ok to pierce your body with.  While it will "clean" the needle, it won't sterilize it.  Would you want a surgeon working on you with equipment that's been cleaned by dipping it in alcohol?  No, you'd want completely sterile equipment so you won't get an infection.

  5. your probally just have sensitive ears. you could always try getting sensitive earings. you just have to get use to it. i think its sore because you did it yourself. and you didnt really numb it that good. give it a couple more days and if its gets worse go to a doctor, or just got to a place where you can get your ears pierced and ask them whats wrong with it and what you could do to make it stop hurting. but if its really bad tell your mom, or drive to the doctors yourself, but if you cant drive, have a friend who can drive, drive up there with you. i hope i helped!

    hope everything gets better!!

    good luck!

  6. Piericing it with a gunisn'tt professionally. :/

You should have went to a piercing place where they use needles.

Just dipping the needle inalcoholl wont clean it fully(or antiseptic)

Just clean it once a day with a pinch of salt in a shot glass. and soak it on your ear.

  7. No, its is probably not infected. Just a bit tender. Dont take it out, and see what happens. If it gets crusty or bleeds, take it out.

If not, let it heal for a few weeks before you get to scared.

:) you proably just have sensitive skin, dont worry.
