The Israeli army informed U.N. officials in Jerusalem that Palestinians using the main checkpoint for the West Bank city of Ramallah were required to cross on foot through a terminal for inspection rather than drive through in their U.N. vehicles, a U.N. email said.

  1. It's not a state, but definitely rogue.

  2. There was a G.C. priest named Capucci (as I recall) who took advantage of his clerical position to smuggle arms into Jerusalem IN HIS CAR--a man of the cloth smuggling arms to kill people. As it turned out, the Pope personally had to request Capucci's release...anyhow, I'm glad to see Bosco and Zeno haven't gotten into any road accidents while under the influence! Hey, is this an Arab Question--did I take a wrong turn and accidentally drive into an Arab area--should I worry about getting lynched! How can I get back to Israel?

  3. It is not unusual for nations to guard their borders and to establish checkpoints to prevent people from illegally entering their countries. The United States has checkpoints at its borders and airports and, as Americans saw on September 11, these are necessary but not foolproof security precautions.

In the case of Israel, the necessity for checkpoints has been created by the Palestinians. By pursuing a violent campaign of terror against Israel’s citizens, they have forced Israel to set up barriers to make it as difficult as possible for terrorists to enter Israel or travel through the territories to carry out acts of violence. The checkpoints are an inconvenience to innocent Palestinians, but they do in fact prevent terror and save lives.

Commercial goods, food, medicine, ambulances, and medical crews continue to circulate freely, hampered only by continuing attacks. Palestinian workers going to jobs in Israel also may pass through the checkpoints with the proper identification; restrictions are only imposed when necessitated by the security situation.

Barriers are not set up to humiliate Palestinians, but to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens. Unfortunately, every time Israel has relaxed its policy and withdrawn checkpoints, Palestinian terrorists have taken advantage of the opportunity to launch new attacks on innocent Israelis.

  4. It has no place in the U.N. It's sole claim to legitimacy is U.N. recognition but they ignore all U.N. rulings; they should lose their seat, and most members should withdraw recognition. Diplomatic isolation, then eventually a reconstitution of the ancestral Palestinian state.

  5. No, they are nation that is constantly under attack that needs to defend themselves.

  6. why are you all so against Israel???

when america had the september 11, the whole world woke up, and every american became paranoid about their safety.

that was less then a decade ago, but in Israel its been since 1948. people walk around waiting for the sirens to warn for a qassam rocket. the terrorists try to kill civillians, and when Israel responds, what happens?

theyre monsters, the UN condemns them,

The US gives aid to the Arabs.

did you know that in the last war, half of the deaths were Arabs killed by Arabs for suspected collaboration with Israel? check it if you don't believe me!

  7. It is a criminal state.

They kill children. They hit 80 year olds with baseball bats. Btw, did you hear about the jews deliberately shooting a 13 year old school girl 17 times at close range.

  8. Legally no. Morally yes. International law needs to be correlated to decency more effectively.

  9. Well, not everyone. However, I wouldn't say so much for their trigger happy special forces and they never respect the UN.

  10. Yes,a million times over, you don't need to cite one example,I could fill a book with "incidents" going back to 1948.

  11. Israel is a time self destructive bomb on most issues.

  12. What many people fail to remember is that yesterdays terrorist is tomorrows prime minister.  In Israel there were the Hagana (probably spelt incorrectly) the Irgun, the Stern gang.

Robert Mugabi was Knighted by the then British government and it is not unlikely that Martin McGinniss or Gerry Adams could be the first minister in Northern Ireland. It all depends on a persons perspective as to whether someone is a terrorist or a freedom fighter.

  13. Adam Z: prior to the 9/11 attacks we all know that the Israelis had to do something with it!!! like tormenting the Arabs of that region and leading them to the brink of suicide! however we all know that the media here is one sided, in favor for the Jews!

  14. it is actually under attack... so next time u should ask "Is Israel a falling state?".. coz it looks like it... usa is doing nothing.. they just want the jewish brain so they pretend to support israel... e.g. many jews created hollywood, jeweleries, banks, bla bla. That's why Bush likes them! Actually USA is highly an anti-semitic country... so why should they support Israel? don't tell me that "american jews are doing it" thing... not all of them support... but if all of them do so don't they go to israel instead of living in usa with hatred around.

    think man.

  15. Trying to protect the borders of a country that has more enemies than rocks, does not make them rogue. It means they are trying to protect their people from harm from any threat possible. Palestinians do have a reputation for unthinkable ways to try and beat their defencies.

  16. Yes. It is very comparable to Yugoslavia, and it should be likewise dismantled, with all necessary force. it is not 'defending" itself from anything. It is a war-psychosis based entity that seeks to destroy other nations and steal their lands.

  17. Israel is not a rouge state but needs to protect itself from suicide bombers that constantly attempt crossing our border..And sadly some do get through..

If not for that our borders would be open & available to all..Isreal now has means to detect cars laden with w' explosives thus deterring  even more attacks..If Hamas/Hezbollah would make peace there'd be no need for these checkpoints..They care less for their own people only wanting the destruction of Israel...

    Am Israel Chai    Never Again

  18. Dont be silly. They are the worlds best loved country and tourist destination. Only a Hamas child killer dislikes them though secretly is envious. The people are great kind to all and are voted regularly as the most generous in helping others. Compare that to the Hezbull killers or Iranian war mongers. Only Israel stands up for the weak, the women, the children. Thank god for israel.

  19. Israel is a state that cares more about the safety of her citizens then the comfort of terrorists.  If Israel has tightened security, it is with good reason.  As long as there continues to be attacks on Israel, Muslims can look forward to continued suffering behind walls and checkpoints. It is always the innocent Muslims that end up paying the price for the terrorists.   It is as simple as that.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Miche ; })

  20. we all saw how U.N ambulance took militant's with weapons in gaza strip, and if not:

so, what do u want to belive?!

even dou, we let them cross, we just ask, for our security that thuse people will exit their car and attend inspections.

why they so against it?? do they have something to hide??!!

    mmm....
