  9. If your looking for the cliches then go for things like pints of guinness, sheep, cottages, green valleys, fiddles, dancing stuff like that.

you could show the different ways of life here e.g. Dublin versus Island life (achill island is one of many) and then compare that with life in the gaelteacht (irish speaking areas).

If your looking for history then try castles, fairy forts, round towers, o'connel st. during easter wk 1916,the troubles during the '60s-'90s, the momuments of the famine victims on dublin's quays  is a pretty amazing visual.

If you want to represent Ireland today then pictures of urban sprawl, upper-class suits, universities, immigrants, gang violence, drugs(pretty much everything you would associate with economically thriving nations).I know this seems sort of all bad so you could also include some great Irish people ..W.B.Yeats,Joyce,U2,Thin Lizzy,

Also ireland has one of the youngest populations in europe so you should use things that reflect that like concerts (Slane and Oxegen),going out(must Irish teenagers are going to pubs and clubs by the time they are 17) and the Leaving Cert (its our unbelievibly difficult end of school exams to get into college)

Sport is a HUGE part of irish life especially in the last few years we have been having great success..The Ryder Cup last summer at the Kay club was brilliant, football icons like roy keane, the national games of hurling and gaelic football and if you are going to use anything then there are two images that you must use:the scenes in Limerick when Munster won the Hieneken Cup in Rugby and the scenes of Ireland absolutely hammering England in rugby in Croke Park two weeks ago...im not being OTT when i say it was a monumental occasion for the Irish nation.
