India cave in against rampant Lankans
A brilliant bowling show assisted by a splendid fielding performance led to the capitulation of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in an important match of the Tri-series cricket tournament being played at the Rangiri International stadium in Dambulla.
The Indian captain Mahindra Singh Dhoni finally won a toss in the series and opted to bat first on a tricky wicket that was offering variable bounce and lateral movement to the Sri Lankan bowlers.
The hero of the last match against the host http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 dasher was dismissed lbw by Kulasekara for 12 runs with the scoreboard reading 20 runs in 5.2 overs.
Sehwag’ dismissal started a flurry of wickets as his opening partner Danesh Karthik followed him to the pavilion, he was adjudged caught behind off Kulasekara for 9 runs compiled off 25 balls.
The Indian capitulation continued with the demise of Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Dhoni and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ravindra-c84236 Jadeja as the batting line-up caved in spectacularly.
The Indians were reeling at 77/6 at this stage, the rut started when Sharma was sent packing lbw for the second time in the series to Kulasekara for 11 runs of 21 balls, his innings included three fours.
The next to go was Suresh Raina who survived a vociferous caught behind appeal against Angelo Matthews only to fall in similar fashion against Perera in the next over, the southpaw scored 8 runs off 16 balls.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 then edged Perera to Sangakkara giving the Sri Lankan captain another catch behind the stumps, Dhoni looked extremely edgy in his 10 runs knock that included two streaky fours in one Perera over.
The Indians stumbled further when Jadeja became Perera’s third victim of the innings he was caught in the outfield by Chamara Silva.
The Indians kept sliding as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Praveen-Kumar-c82600 fell at the same score, falling to a catch to Upul Tharanga without scoring.
The eighth wicket to fall was that of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashish-Nehra-c46293 who gave Sangakkara his fourth catch of the innings with Malinga the successful bowler. Nehra scored 2 runs only.
The mainstay of Indian effort was Yuvraj Singh who tried his best to keep the scoreboard ticking.  However after striking two big boundaries he was adjudged lbw to Lasith Malinga the southpaw scored 38 runs including 5 fours and 1 six.
The last wicket was that of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ishant-Sharma-c64566 who became the fifth victim of Perera for 3 runs, the Indians folded for 103 runs setting Sri Lankans an easy target of 104 runs.
