Im 17 years old and im homeschooled ....how do i get a work permit?

i live in Louisiana a fast response is needed as my final interview is schedulded the wedensday coming up...and as many details as you can give me because i have no idea where to start! ive done as much research as i could but i came up in circles! they told me i had the job....i just need a permit!

You should be able to find out from the Department of Labor and Industries, or the local school district.

In our state these are not required for young people to go to work.

Ours start at age 15, and up.

I have heard that in some states you can only obtain such a permit through the schools, depending on attendance, and grades.

I think this is hogwash, but if such is the law you my have to check with the labor department to see if home school students are exempt.

In the states where home schools are considered private schools, I guess the parents could sign off on such a permit, since they would be the "school officials".

If all else fails contact the Home School Legal defense, and ask them about the particulars.

I guess it varies from state to state. In our state it is the same way that a person in public school gets a work permit.   Our permits are downloadable from the state department of labor.

It varies in each state. You can type in Louisianna.gov and see if you can get the site for your state. They should have information for your state and a way to register.

Contact the local Department of Employement and they will refer you.

A local school might do it for you.

In So. Cal you need to go to your school and ask your councerlor about a work permit. Now in Louisiana I'm not so sure. But maybe to the District or School and they should be able to give you some answers.
