If I'm driving off-duty with an Official Plate and I run a photo enforced light, will I receive the ticket?

  1. If you are a cop, you should know better.  You should, if that is the law.  If you are not on duty then you should be treated like a normal driver.  Even when on-duty, if you are not in an emergency you should.


  2. If you have confidentiality on your plates then you will not get a ticket.  But if you have an official plate it is to my understanding that they will issue a letter to your department head and it will be up to your department head as to whether you will be paying a fine or what type of punishment will be given.  Either way you'll know in two to three weeks.

    BUT-

    What will happen to it...if your commander is smart, you will get chewed on a bit and the paper will just "go away".

    Being a public official does not put you above the law, so you should receive a ticket.
