  1. take a day off and try running with someone because whether you're consious of it or not, you will be much more competitive and work harder. also NEVER EVER walk.

  2. 5km is a good distance to run and will improve stanima but doding the same workout everyday will tire your body and will get very boring since yo uhave a little base from runnin g5 km every day switch it up and run some tempo runs which are timed and fast passed and then you need a recovery day help help your body relax to keep from hurting your self dont give up good times will come.

  3. www.runnersworld.com ; everything you need to know about running. I am a beginner runner and got a lot of information from there.

  4. I'd run 5k every other day, and inbetween some day run a mile as fast as you can. Get a ipod/mp3 and listen too music. It makes running less of a hassle and takes your mind off things. If you still don't enjoy running you might want too stop going for 5ks and start doing sprints like 440 or miles.

  5. Don't run every day - give your body some rest.  But if you need to exercise, mix it up with cycling and swimming.

  6. Take a day off. Also, running the same thing every day should maintain your fitness, but it won't increase it. The answer to your problem: run a different route AND CROSSTRAIN! That'll work out your other muscles and strengthen you more. Good luck!

  7. Try taking a day off to recover, then try again.

  8. You need to take a day or two off a week. Make sure you're stretching, take good care of yourself. Everything in moderation. Running is intense.

  9. oo i can the 5km and got a good time i think it waz 18 min for my age im 15

wut u need to do is run it one day and the next day recover then work on ur legs muslces and then run it again remember push ups help u also need upper body muclse when ur running  andn repeat ova and ova

    hope u get betta:P

  10. Don't run every day, like the first guy said, I know it feels counterintuitive but running is pretty destructive to your muscles and joints, and if you don't give them a day to heal in between runs, you're gonna suffer(just like any weight lifting)

Then the other thing is, if you're running just 5km every time, that's not the most efficient way to improve your time.  About once a week have a "long" run, start gently, maybe add on only half a kilometer, and every week increase by about 10% until you're running 10k(if you feel like going farther you can, but 10k is a pretty good number)

If you wanna run 5k fast, you need to be able to run farther than a 5k comfortably, make sense?  Second:  Do some work with sprints.  Sprinting uses a whole different set of muscles then running distances, and if you can get them some strength they'll help you out

  11. Try running only 4 km you do not want to die fit . You might be overdoing it becarefull it's not worth it.

  12. my daughter does running for somerset and she comes to me with trouble like this as she runs around our local field 3 times

the best solution is to take a day off and then the next day when you go out for a run it will feel much easier... also make sure you do warm up drills(such as skipping, high knees, heel flicks, ect) and also take about a couple of minutes afterwards to do cool down stretches to release laksic acid in your muscles.

Good luck with your next run.

  13. u cant o something like that every day

u have to give ur body time to rest and heal

do a long run like that once or twice a week

the other day u can still run but take it a little easier ansd sgorten it up a little bit

try to incorporate some speed workouts on those days

do some short fast sprints .. like 200-400m

  14. It sounds like you're starting to plateau. Try running either a longer distance or step up your pace. There's a point every runner can get to if they stay at the same distance and pace for too long that can cause them to not get any faster or better at running.
