1. Eh, start saving! That's not enough for an engagement party!

  2. Congratulation!!! You should have a lil house party or bbq and do little buffet thing with salad and all cheap yet chearful and yummy it always goes down well!::)

  3. you cannot by etiquette standards host your own engagement party so who ever hosts it for you will hopefully have more than £100 to spend

  4. Firstly, congratulations on your engagement. Do you have a family member who has a nice garden, if so then you could ask them to host it for you. A finger buffet for the food and ask your guests to bring some drink with them. You don't have to be lavish with the food , just enough to go around. Make a cake and decorate it yourself or ask one of your friends to make it for you.

  5. BBQ! get people to bring drink

    xx

    CONGRATZ

  6. See if a local pub has a room you could hire, they may do it for free if you get enough numbers to go. A cheap buffet with the usual crisps, sausage roll, chicken legs and such won't cost much.

    Enjoy!!!

  7. omg £100 WTF how cheap are you

  8. Congratulations.

The best engagement parties I`ve been to have been on a budget and have been at the house either of the person or their parents.

Cater yourself and make lethal looking punch, it goes further.

  9. yay! Congratulations!! :D all the best!

You could have a bbq at your house and have music playing for your guests?

Think hiring out a hall might be over £100 unless you know someone who is a member of a golf club who could get you the hall for like £20? Thats what we did, we got a friend to do the djing and hired out some lights. Think it came to about £150 including food and balloons lol it had a bar aswell but people paid for their own drinks. The drinks were mega cheap though because it was a golf club lol

  10. being a veggie, you should know the answer yourself.

  11. ok! well if your having it soon best thing to do is find a social club that will let you have the room for free (cos they should make enough on drinks)...then have a bbq outside...get every one who comes to bring somethign to stick on it and then you sort out the little bits like the ketchup/buns/salad/paper plates/napkins etc. That way they bring their own food and pay for their own drinks. so you just spend a little on decoration and the coal for the bbq. sorted!

otherwise get the social room and spend £80 on food from iceland and do it yourself and 20 quid on some balloons and paper plates and napkins from the pound shop! icelands party food is like a fiver for a box of all sorts so you will have loads to offer. just make up some sandwhiches like egg and tuna and some bowls of nuts and crisps. it can be done!

  12. Congrats. I think just invite the friends who are close to your heart.

  13. Have you got a garden or do you have a relative/friend with a garden? If I were you I'd spend the £100 on fairy lights and garden candles / lanterns. I'm sure everyone will bring drinks and if you speify, ask them to bring a bottle and a dish (specify buffet food). A friend of mine did just that for his 30th and it worked a treat!

  14. Congratulations,,,,, Its a nice time of the year, Have a barbecue, and ask your friends to bring a bottle, that way £100 will go a long way, have a great party

  15. With £100 you wouldn't have enough to have a big party with all of your friends and relatives, cater for everyone and hire a venue and DJ etc.

Venue £0 - Have a platter or BBQ party at your house or one of your parent's houses, invite all yourt close family and friends

Decorations - Go to the local £ shop and buy some cheap banners and balloons (or get someone to make you a banner!), ask if anyone has party lights if your doing it outdoors. Also remember to pick up some paper plates, plastic cutlery and napkins!

Food & Drink - Ask all the guests to bring a plate of food & their own drink, but also provide some of your own. Go to Iceland and buy some basics, burgers etc if your doing a BBQ and they do great 3 for £5 deals on buffet food, get peanuts, crisps & dip etc and also see what deals the local supermarket has on beer and spirits, make sure you have enough mixers (coke, tonic, lemonade) incase peopoe run out.

Cake - Since you're on a budget I would opt out of having an engagement cake unless you have a talented mother/grandma/aunt etc who can make you one for free! Alternatively if you really want one go to Tesco and buy a plain royal-iced sponge cake for £7 and get someone with a steady hand to decorate it for you (or just buy plastic decorations from a cake shop for 20p each - you can get 'Happy Engagement' and rings and doves etc)

Music - If you're fortunate enough to have a friend who is a DJ and will do you a deal then great. If not, use your laptop and make your own playlist on Windows Media Player or i-Tunes so that you don't need a DJ, or if you don't have a laptop get someone to make a few mix-CDs of the songs you like.

And there you go a simple engagement party on a strict budget! Hope this helps!

  16. Have a beach barbeque and ask to the guests to bring their own BBQ and drinkies. All you need supply is the charcoal, ice, salad and a cd player (remember plenty of batteries). Of course this only works if you're near the sea. Congratulations - hope it works out for you.

  17. pub! hire a bouncing castle and DJ
