Well the thing is I passed the drivers ed class portion, but I never got my drivers permit because I don't have my birth certificate since I sent it to Iran to renew my passport. Anyways, its been about 2 months and they still haven't sent me my birth certificate therefore I cannot get my permit. When I get my birth certificate and get my permit, how long does it take to get the license? Do I have to wait 6 months after I got the permit, or 6 months after I finished the classroom part, or do I have to wait 6 months after the drivers part (7 hours actual driving) which I haven't done yet? This is in the state of Texas. I am 16 soon to be 17 this July.
