I want to move to T.O. and I thought about living around Parliment and Bloor. Is it safe there, or is that area a bad nieghbourhood? Are there any other places that I should avoid?

  1. Just avoid the Jane&Finch area. That's where most of the shootings/violence occured so far. I live in Scarborough and is it OK here. Downtown Toronto is safe too.

You'll hear alot about shootings/homocides etc...on the Toronto Star newspaper. It'll tell you where the things happened so you'll get an idea of where is a bad area to live in.

  2. Parliament and Bloor is OK, although the St. James Town projects (bounded by Bloor, Parliament, Wellesley and Sherbourne) are quite poor. Seeing homeless people and other urban shadiness in this area is not uncommon. It is close to the subway and downtown however.

You should avoid Jane and Finch, Regent Park, parts of Parkdale, the Oakwood area (Vaughan Road), parts of Rexdale, and some parts of Scarborough. Most of downtown is fine, however.

  3. Jane and Finch area. Unless your a bro' and armed to the teeth.

  4. Scarborough

    Sherbourne street

really the entire city is bad news

  5. It's not true...

Toronto isn't the worst city we just have a larger population, the more people you have in your city the higher the chances of something happening and Toronto is huge. It's like 4 or 5 times the size of someother cities but still has less than 4 or 5 times the amount of violence

I lived at Jane and Sheppard for a year (right at Jane and Finch) and I was never bothered - however, I still don't recommend living there. That is the one area I would avoid

  6. Yes.. stay away from Jane and Finch, and I would even go as far as to say albion and finch as well. I never feel safe there even though I have never been bothered, the horrible news that comes out of that area just makes me very weary to go into that area.
