How do you reset a lock combination for a brinks resettable 2 inch brass lock?

<p>A week ago I bought the Brinks 3-dial solid brass resettable combination lock. 161-30051&nbsp; Was using it as gym lock.</p> <p>Took it out of my bag and found the three dials wouldn't move at all. Moved hasp/shackle around, now hasp is stuck 90 degrees in opposite direction. Can't pull up or push down. The three dials move, but nothing happens. Tried bobby pin trick in lock pick videos and other techniques to see if combination somehow changed, but nothing worked. </p> <p>Found quite a few others online with similar problems for multi-dial Brinks lock. This lock is a piece of c**p. Lock is easy to pick (when it's working correctly), judging by internet videos. Lock also fouls up inexplicably. Not cheap, and not amusing. Fail.</p>

I can open the lock with the 0000 right now, but I don't have the required "change pin" in order for me to input my new combination.. HELP! 😣

I bought a 2" brass lock from walmart yesterday and it wont open using the 0000 combo to reset it to my own combo. After searching the net i have come to the conclusion that this is a bad lock and anyone thinking of buying one should rethink about it. Several people had problems after using this lock for a year by having it just reset on its own. Im gonna toss mine. plink80

guest11472712 maybe you should read what was typed completely rather than skim it and be a know it all. The original poster clearly stated that it was stuck in the lock position, therefore cannot open it and do as you have instructed.. thx for your useless post :)

I too am having a problem OPENING THE LOCK. 0000 - doesnt work and neither does the combination of numbers I chose to set it at.. Anyone know how to reset it from the already locked position or should I just toss this lock and chose a brand not called brinks?

I just bought one of these locks today.  I must have messed up after putting my own combination, because now it wont open either on the 0000 or my own combination! :(  What do I do? Have I wasted $8.00?

This is not working on my Brinks combination lock.  It is a 2", brass, resettable lock, like the one described but this procedure does not reset the combination.  Any ideas?

open it, turn the curved part 180 degreesand push it down, spin the dials to the new combination and then pull the curved part up, turn it back 180 degrees and lock it. It is now reset.
