How do you open a jammed renualt clio hatch lock?

Access the boot by lowering the rear seat back then remove the plastic vertical liner tray from the hatch opening. (the fixings really need to be lifted upwards but as they are trapped by the hatch  force is needed to break the fixings) This gives access to the lock bar fixings on the car body. These are allen screws which once removed allows the hatch to be opened and you can then work on or replace the lock. In my case it was a canvas handle of a shopping bag that was trapped in the lock and I was able, with the use of a small craft knife, to cut between the metal parts and release the lock.
