How do you grow an avocado tree out of an avocado pit?

Our family eats a lot of avocados and i heard that you can grow and avocado tree out of the pit. I am wondering what are the steps and how to. Please make it easy to read , and make the steps clear.

  1. You usually can't grow it out of the pit. Good luck though.. You can get avocado vines, I know that.  


  2. Old f**t above has the correct idea. And if you are not living in a tropical part of the world, the tree will only be a cool indoor house plant. I have had several sprout and grow, but come winter it's either a sunny window in the house or a dead stick in a pot.

  3. plant it. water it.

  4. Take the avocado pit and leave in the sun to dry for a few days.

    Take a bottle like a mayo bottle where the avo pit can just fall through.

    Put 3 matches in the side of the avo pit around it so it can sit about half way in the rim of the bottle.

    Fill the bottle with water and leave it standing in a window sill.

    Make sure your bottle stay full from day to day.

    Whalla in a few days you will see it sprout (+- 14)

    There you have a avocado pear tree.
