High Moon announces secret Marvel Game – Video Games Update
High Moon Studios has revealed that the secret Marvel project was in fact a Deadpool game set to be released sometime in 2013 and will be published by Activision.
One of Marvel’s lesser iconic characters, Deadpool or “The Merc with a Mouth” is finally getting his very own video game after making cameos in Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film tie-in game with the
same name.
The news about the Deadpool game was leaked a few days before High Moon officially announced the game at the San Diego Comic Con 2012 (SDCC 2012) with a video teaser that showed the Anti-hero Deadpool breaking the 4th wall as he talked about his
game with two of his split personalities.
The trailer proceeds to show that the game will be a third person shooter with some Hack’n’slash elements thrown in and over the top action and violence. It’s reassuring for fans to know that High Moon Studios will be sticking to the comic books and won’t
be censoring the game just to get a PG-13 rating.
Gamers were pleased to hear that Nolan North, the voice actor famous for his role as Nathan Drake from the Uncharted games, will be voicing Deadpool again. North’s voice acting for Deadpool in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions was loved
by fans and gamers thought that it fit Deadpools’ character perfectly.
High Moon Studios has announced the game to be released in 2013 for consoles but the consoles weren’t specified. Since it’s going to be published by Activision, gamers can presume that it is likely to end up on every platform possible just like most Activision
games. Gamers were curious if there was going to be a PC version as High Moon Studios are console exclusive developers and usually Activision hires other developers to port their games on to the PC.
The question also remains if whether the Deadpool game will be for this generation of consoles or if it is a next generation title. The SDCC 2012 crowd wasn’t too thrilled by the game’s graphics but that is understandable since it was just a teaser and High
Moon Studios is currently busy with their Transformers game which is set to be released this year.
