  1. Your dog needs the kind of fluids people in the hospital get, not bowls of water.  You can buy what you need and be told how to use it by a vet.  Vets are not monsters (ok most aren't).  Some will take a post-dated check.  Some will treat your dog in exchange for some work from you at the vet hospital, either indoors or out.  Could you paint walls, scrub floors, clean cages, pull weeds, answer the phone?  You have to talk to them when they have a moment to spare.  Put your offer to work in writing and sign it.

Sadly, after 2 days without treatment, your pup's chances of survival may not be so good.  You need to have the little guy's condition evaluated.

  2. there is this stuff called LTD or LDT you  can gt it at health food stores and it is said to work to cure parvo it is a vitamin supplement a friend who breeds Poms swears by it never tried it my self

  3. If you are short of cash, try to pay the vet with credit card where visa or mastercard accept it. This might save your dog's life

  4. I would be calling every vet in town and telling them he has been diagnoised an you don't get paid til friday.........lets make a deal.  Call the humane society they might have some answers too for you.

  5. borrow the money from a family member or friend. u need to get your puppy to the vet fast and i hope someone helps you out until u can pay them back

Enemas are extremely helpful with hydrating the puppy without the vomiting. You can buy e***a kits from the drug store,

When you try giving fluids by mouth, give a tiny bit at a time. Buy some Nutrical and give little bits of it at a time, like a smudge on the tip of your finger. Ive cured two pups with herbs, fluids and nutrical. Check out the Wolf Creek ranch natural remedy At the bottom of the page they show their whole ingredient list.  I only used the spearmint and peppermint. You make teas out of these herbs. The person at the herb store can help you with that. YOu give just a little bit at a time I wish i could remember how often I did it, probably about 1-3cc every half hour, as well as that much pedialyte every 15 mins to half hour. The wolf creek ranch explains about enemas and how often to do them , its not hard and VERY beneficial. GOOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. take him to an animal emergency hospital. maybe you can make a deal that they keep him tell Friday and take care of him. or take a loan out. i know animal shelters also have medicine and you can maybe work something out with them too. I'm really sorry about you dog. this is a hard situation and pets are more like family then some peaple realize. try every thing you can don't give up use all your recourse's. don't give up this is hard but you will get through it.

  8. try a payday loan or an overdraft on your bank account

  9. I had a vet tell me a dog is a luxury and if you don't have the 4000 dollars for this (unnecisary surgery) then you should pay the 400 dollars to put her to sleep! I was upset they said people don't like to pay the bills if the pet has passed away. They would rather spend the money on a new pet and take it to a different vet. Have you tried asking your boss to see if you can get an advance on your check to take the dog into the vet or take something to a pawn shop and pick it up friday or try one of those check into cash places where you write a check due on a certain day and you pay a 1.25 a day on the money? Sometimes you gotta think outside the box good luck

  10. Vets are a business, not a charity.  I use my credit card if I am short of cash.

  11. That's ridiculous... Most vets will take payment plans. Offer to break it down in multiple payments or make a deposit. If they continue to suck like that, tell them they should be doctors first and foremost before walking out or hanging up and trying another vet. Ask around over the phone to any you can find who will take payment plans spread out over time. A vet is the dog's only hope. I really hope you can find a real one instead of these stupid money-grubbers posing as such! Grr!

Best of luck to you, I really hope things will be alright... :(

  12. Some vets may take a pre-dated check..  or go to one of those pay-roll advanced places..  apply for a carecredit card www.carecredit.com

Its not about being "money hungry"..  pets are a luxury and an expense.  Vets have their own bills to pay too, and they cannot afford to take in everyone's pet with "promises" of being paid later.  Most people who "promise" to pay never do!  Vets have a reason for expecting payment when services are rendered.. its the only way they can assure that they will be paid!!

  13. Parvo is very deadly for puppies.  The mortality rate is extremely high.  I went through the same thing with two puppies.  I actually had the money to take them to the vet....I took some pretty good measures with IV drips, antibiotics, the whole works and it wasn't good enough--they died on me anyways.  It's a heartbreaking thing to watch them suffer with.  :(  I have heard of people treating parvo at home....I haven't tried these myself so I don't know if it will work but it's worth a try.  Go to the link for more information and good luck!!!

  14. First stop blaming the vet because you don't have the money to treat your pet. Vets do not get money from the government to cover people that have no money like human hospitals. Secondly if you were a responsible pet owner it would have gotten vaccinated at least 3 times by now against parvo and would not have gotten sick in the first place. Try and be a responsible pet owner now and if you can not afford to treat the puppy find a rescue organization that will let you turn the puppy over to them so they can treat it and place it with some one who can afford to have a pet.

  15. First thing is to immediately go get some pedilite. Gatorade has too much sugar. That will keep hihydrateded! Then it is mandatory you start him on antibiodics asap! You can pick those up at any feed store. They will have options as well. Make sure you get the one with the most antibiodics, some pills have one and others have more than that. Use a goole map to find the closest to you. I use Gordons on 7Th Ave. and Broadway. The lady who works there has a perfect medication. I used it on my mother in laws dog when it had kidney failure. Those where the same pills she used on her dog when it had parvo. Good luck the sooner you act the better. They also have a suppliment for vitamen due to the lose of them. I paid 50 dollars for the past (2) and biodics.

  16. I don't understand what kind of vet he is.  He doesn't care for dog, perhap he is in the wrong profession.  My sister had 2 dogs and he treated them without money, until she comes back from N.Y.  He also give her medicine for dogs in the street that have infection.  This is a vet.  I don't know what is parvo, but I pray that your dog survive.  Take him to another vet. vet like that doesn't deserve to be practicing.  Talk to your boss to see if he give you an advance from your check.  God bless you and your dog.   Ga
