Help Me.

I found out from a friend that a can press F10 when I turn on my computer and i clears my computer to factory defaults.

When i pressed F10 on load up it came up with a window and i had 3 options i choose the one that said all my files were backed up to a file called old drive.

I have gone into old drive on Local Disc (C:) and it said that the folder is not accessible or i dont have permission .

I think this is because I had a password on my account before it got cleared and now I cant access my files. They are very important to me is there anyway to get these files back from the Old Drive Folder.

Thanks Lee Raby

  1. You need to change the permissions on that folder. Right-click on the folder, click Properties, go to the Security tab. Click on "Everyone" in the list of permissions. (If you don't have "Everyone" in the list, click Add, type "Everyone", and click OK.) Now, check "Full Control" for Everyone and click Apply.

If you don't see the Security tab, click Tools > Folder Options, go to the View tab, and uncheck "Use simple file sharing".

If you are using Windows Vista, you will need to click "Edit" on the Security tab and change permissions in the second window that comes up.
