HOLIDAY TO PARK INN SHARM EL SHEIKH IN EGYPT NEXT MARCH 2009, LOOKING FOR ANY ADVICE ,2 ADULTS ,3 CHILDREN ?

WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT A HOLIDAY IN EGYPT.

we would like to know about trips,scuba diving,money,phoning home,internet,shopping etc,etc. any good advice will be most appreciated that will make our holiday more enjoyable.

Well I'm sure you will love it there, I go there myself every year now to scuba diving of which you will enjoy very much, our pound Sterling is a very good value it you compare it to their Egyptian pound, each of our sterling pounds is over 10 of theirs hence you can enjoy this as well, the food is very nice, night life is good too, the kids will enjoy it too all the beaches are very safe and lovely, you can also go on safari, lots of shops to take some souvenirs on your way back.

Your mobile phone should pick up Vodafone in Egypt and then you can call home or they can call you but you will be paying the bill though for the incoming calls, you can buy a phone card and make calls from your mobil or even any from any public phone, there are lots of internet cafes, also you can use the WiFi service from your hotel and it is free and the best and the cheapest way to be in touch with home, also on most of cafes they have the service so just take your laptop with you and Bob's is your uncle.

you will enjoy sunbathing, swimming , scuba diving , snorkling all day.

apply sunblock to the exposed parts of the bodies .

drink bottled water and brush your teeth with it .

eat in good restaurants .

you can go to Hard Rock Cafe if you like .

there are Egyptian, Greek, Italian , Chinese restaurants in Naema Bay .

fast food chains have branches there .

there is a water park, Cleo.

enjoy an evening in One Thousand Nights that offers panoramic folklore shows .

if your mobile phone works , use it .

if it doesnt , you can call home from the hotel or from  a booth .

you will find an internet cafe , im sure .

the Sterling  is sold at about 10 Egyptian pounds .

the Dollar at 5.30 , and the Euro at about 8 LE

if you are interested in going to St Catherine's Monastery , it is at a distance of about 2 hrs by bus .

you can go on a cruise to Ras Mohamed .

you will have lunch and soft drinks during the cruise .

Make sure your hotel is seaside, if not that will be a pain to have to take the shuttle to get there. Money can be exchanged in the airport at sharm el sheikh. Plan to only drink bottled water. Sharm el Sheikh is basically only a tourist town. No large grocery stores and pharmacies there, so bring your toiletries with you.

Bring lots of sunscreen, they do sell it for an arm and a leg. Ask about Jelly fish, they do come to the shores.

Expect to see little lizards, so explain it to the children so they dont freak out if you find them in the room.

ask your chemist to recommend some strong stomach relief medicine

because its 90% one of you will come down with the pharaoh`s curse

and you can soon dehydrate

don't bother to buy any of the oils or perfumes that are on sale everywhere have a walk round old sharm but don`t forget to haggle
