Can you travel from Melbourne to the Great Barrier Reef via plane?

  1. The reef starts around Gladstone, and goes to the tip of Cape York and beyond.

    Flights to Gladstone, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns (and probably a few more) will get you to the reef.

    So yes, fly from Melbourne to Cairns.
