Golf Update: Greenbrier Classic 2010, Stuart Appleby the new rising star
The winner of the Greenbrier classic and the 5th player to shoot a 59 in the history of PGA Tour are not two separate players but one; Stuart Appleby.
The Australian who was born on the 1st of May in 1971 is a star now. He was born in Cohuna, which is a situated in northern Victoria. At the age of 21, he turned professional and started his first PGA tour of Australasia. After 3 hectic years, the Australian finally got a break and won back to back two victories on the nationwide tour , not only this but he made the cut into the PGA tour by finishing  5th on the money list. After making the cut, he won 9-times on the PGA tour. Moreover, he made it four times into the president’s cup by getting the membership. In 2004, he was ranked in top10s according to the official world golf rankings.
However, Stuart Appleby started coming to the form of a champion when he came second at the Open Championship in 2002.The player whom he gave a tough time was none other than Ernie Els. Two years later in 2004, Stuart Appleby finished as no 17th according to the FedEx Cup Standings. In 2006, the peak of his golfing career arrived when he had eight PGA Tour victories .These victories included consecutive three Mercedes Championships in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In the same year  Stuart Appleby won at the  Shell Houston Open.
The player who carries a lucky charm; a ball with an apple bee picture on it believes, that it is the reason behind his victory at the Greenbrier classic, old white course White Sulphur Springs. However, at the same time he is a keen believer of hard work and knows that without his putting, the lucky charm was no good.
As it is said that charity starts from home, so does the Stuart’s charity. Stuart Appleby started his charity work from his home town, Victoria .There he focuses on helping junior golfers who are in their earlier stages of learning with their basic foundation. Stuart Appleby’s mission for the Stuart Appleby Junior Golf Foundation is to provide quality training and exposure with fun to junior golfers throughout the Victoria. However, at the same time he aims to make it one of the best clubs to produce spectacular players of the future.
Moreover, he is the care taker of Chelsea and Aaron, children of Payne Stewert, his neighbour who died in a plane crash.
The 39-year-old Australian has missed just two cuts out of 25 events and earned $1,847,762 in 2010, which makes him no 24th on the PGA money list. Moreover, he is 947th according to the FedEx Cup Standings 2010.

Stuart Appleby has recently won the 2006 Shell Houston Open. This is his second trophy of the championship which he won in 1999 as well. Other this he is the three time consecutive winner of the   Mercedes Championship, 2005, 2004 and 2003.In the same year he won the Las Vegas Invitational as well. Moreover, before that it was Kemper Open and Honda Classic in 1998 and 1997 respectively.
59 at Greenbrier Classic 2010
Stuart smashed the final round with a score of 11-under-par 59 and won the Greenbrier Classic by a stroke over Jeff Overton.
The father of two beautiful girls Ella and Mia, set the course on fire  with  his six birdies in the front nine an Greenbrier Classic and moved to only one-stroke behind the leader Jeff Overton in the 4th  round. It did not stop here; he shocked Jeff Overton with an 11-foot eagle-putt at the par-5 12th hole. However, Jeff responded with consecutive birdies from the 10th hole onwards.
To the end of the tournament, Stuart's scorecard showed two birdies at the 16th and the 17th hole with a victorious eagle at the18th.
This is it for Stuart Appleby, who has put his name in golden words by striking a 59 at the Greenbrier Classic 2010. According to the experts, Stuart Appleby‘s career has just taken a flight on concord. His putting is excellent, his attitude is perfect and his game is superb who can stop a player like this.
