Golf Update: 123rd Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Championship, Pakistan team leave for Sri Lanka
Pakistan Golf Federation’s manager Mr. Muhammad Riaz said that Four Pakistani golfers are going to take the country’s name internationally.
Four Pakistani golfers, which include two men and two women, are going to represent Pakistan in the 123rd Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Championship in Royal Colombo Golf Club starting from July 24 to July 30.
Royal Colombo Golf Club was Built in 1879, it was only the second club in the world to receive the royal charter; and it is worthy of this honour.  
The Royal Colombo Golf Club is a sanctuary situated in the heart of Colombo, Sri Lanka. In contrast to its surroundings, it is an exquisite and tranquil environment to relax and unwind. The scenic landscape and a glimpse of the rare species of flora and fauna on the course all contribute to this pastoral environment set within its 96-acre former model farm.
The fairways are welcoming. Tight and difficult 5,770-meter course rewards both tactical defensive golf and long hitting. The course entertains it guest with plenty of thing, the beautiful environment and the delicious food.
If the picturesque trees are not enough, the course entertains 13 well-placed water traps. From the very 1st hole, where a lake protects the green, water comes into play. One of the more testing holes on this course is the par 3, 13th, that requires an off-putting carry over water to a bunker protected green.
There is a pro-shop also at the Royal Colombo Golf club, where the golfer can get every golf equipment they want with a high quality.
Pakistani’s golfer in Sri Lanka
The reigning national champion of Pakistan and also the titleholder of Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship Mohammad Ali Hai of Karachi, who will accompany Safdar Khan of Gujranwala, who finished as a runner-up in the 2010 National Golf Championship of Pakistan.
Both the players Safder khan and Muhammad Ali Hai have a handicap of 2 and 1 and both of them have already participated in a number of national and international golf tournaments.
Expectations are high from Ali Hai, as presently he holds the Pakistan national title and a Bangladesh title. With his ability to drive extraordinary distances backed by a definite putting touch, expectations are high about his performance.
The other team member, Muhammad Safdar has worked hard too for the tour. The two female golfers who will represent Pakistan are Ghazala Yasmin and Tahira Nazir.
 
Muhammad Riaz Pakistan Golf Federation’s manager said that Ghazala, the national golf champion, belongs to Lahore Garrison Golf Club, whereas Tahira hails from Rawalpindi Golf Club.
Ghazala is representing Pakistan for the first time internationally, whereas Tahira has previously competed for the country in several ladies' tournaments internationally.
 Brig (retd) Nayyar Afzal has been chosen as the manager of the squad and he will accompany the team and will leave with the team for Colombo on July 23.
India and Bangladesh are also taking part in this championship apart from Pakistan and the host country Sri lanka.  

The Pakistan team will fly to Sri Lanka on July 23, Saturday. Men golfers will have practice rounds on July 24 and 25 on the same day the ladies are in for difficult time, as they play qualifying Rounds.
The actual event starts on 26, 27 and 28th of July.
We all know the love of competition and people from all over the world share the thrill of victory, and Pakistan is no exception. Pakistan is a nation with proud sporting traditions, having participated in international competitions for decades now. The whole nation is praying for them. It is hoped they bring pride to their country.
