Getting a train from wollongong to gold coast

i was wondering if i could get to the gold coast from wollongong, using trains alone, and if so how much does it cost and how many transfers would it entail, also an estimated length of trip would be helpfull. cheers

Yes. You can get the train from Gold Coast to Wollongong. There is a number of different stops that the bus makes on the Gold Coast but the last one is Surfers Paradise at the bus terminal. You would be getting a bus from Surfers to Casino which is about 1 hour then the train to Sydney Central which leaves Casino at 7.30pm arrives about 7am the next day. You would then need to catch a intercity southcoast train to wollongong. Cost would depend on if you have any concessions. A one way ticket to Sydney as a concession is $33. You could also catch the train from Brisbane Roma Street it leaves at 6.30am arrives at 10pm. That would cost about $50 each way on a concession.

You would have to get a train from Sydney to Murwullimbah then a bus.   Or train from Sydney to Brisbane then the Gold coast train getting off at Helensvale or Nerang or Robina depending what part of the Gold Coast you would be staying . Brisbane to Helensvale takes 1 hour then bus to Surfers paradise.
