Formula One - HRT looking forward for Singapore’s night race
The cars are ready to rally at next arena of Formula One calendar, and this time it is the Singapore track that would be serving as the host.
The race at Marina Bay Street Circuit of Singapore is one of the most exciting and adventurous events for the drivers as well as their fans, firstly because the track is a very tough and tricky one, demanding a real test of the driving skills and physical
strength, and more importantly because it hosts the only night race of Formula One season.
Now as the cars move ahead to gather in Singapore this weekend, Formula One’s official website talked to Hispania Racing F1 Team (HRT)’s drivers and its principal, probing their fears as well as aspirations for the upcoming race.
The Japanese driver of the team, Sakon Yamamoto would be racing for the very first time on this track with Formula One,  therefore, he spells a lot of excitement as well as anticipation for this ‘very tricky’ track.
The race is expected to be quite challenging for him, as this is not only his first attempt of revealing this tough track but also because he does not have much experience for racing at nights.
While commenting on the layout and characteristics of the circuit he told that since it is a high downforce track, therefore the team is working hard to provide a car with a good grip and mechanical strength.
He concluded telling, “It is going to be a tough race for the car and physically demanding for the drivers, as it is usually hot and humid in Singapore. We are confident for the race and we will try to do our best again.”

The team’s other driver Bruno Senna is also driving for the first time on the Singapore track. As the rookie driver heads for the race he proclaimed, “I am very looking forward to the Singapore Grand Prix because it is my first night race and everyone who has
already been there has said that it is a great event.”
Well, the inexperience of both the drivers for night races, in addition to unfamiliar track conditions definitely make the race a tough one for the team, nevertheless, as they make their preparations both the drivers seem positive and motivated.
Senna told Formula1.com that he knows that the track is a very challenging and bumpy, and they need to have a good braking system and stability in the car.
As the drivers head for the race, the team Principal Dr Colin Kolles stands restless, anticipating seeing a good weekend for the team.
While talking to the reports, he stated that Singapore always presents a great festive atmosphere especially because the race takes place at night, and he is hoping to have another fun-filled race weekend.
As he discussed different features of the track, he told that twenty three corners of the Marina Bay Street Track allow only slow speed; he added that this is one of the most demanding circuits of Formula One and needs a lot of strength and concentration
from the drivers especially the last sector, which is extremely twisty.
He concluded telling, “We are looking forward to this special night race after performing well at the European circuits. For the last five races overseas the team is highly motivated to achieve good results and to bring both cars to the finish line.”
Currently the team stands at eleventh place in the Constructors’ Championship without having earned a single point, but this is only their first season at the sport and they hope to end it at a positive note for the upcoming season.
