  1. The trick is to put the equation in "Slope-Intercept" form.

    That form is y=mx+b.

    Once you get +1y all by itself, the slope m is the coefficient of the x term,

    and the b term is the y-intercept

    For your question 1/2y=x+4, multiply each term by 2

    That gives y=2x+8

    The slope is 2, and the y-intercept is 8. That means the line cuts the

    y-axis 8 units above the origin (0,0).


  2. 1/2 y = x 4

    y/2    = x 4

    2 (y/2) = (4x) 2

    y = 8x

  3. first times both side by 2

    so then you get y=8x

  4. 1/2 y= x 4 (I assume you mean 1/2y = x + 4)

    change to y = mx + b format

    m = slope, b = y-intercept

    y = 2x + 8

    slope = 2

    y-intercept = 8
