  1. Follow up to the link listed above. With all due respect to Penny who commented on my initial inquiry looking for advice, " state of the art is not always a good thing."  The more gears and cogs in a mechanism, the more its apt to experience a breakage. Any brilliant engineer will tell you that ' less is better'. If your new mouse trap requires less parts, is cheaper to produce and will outperform the competition with a 99% reliabilty factor, then guess what folks ? You do indeed have a wonder lawn grooming tool to use that anyone from 8 to 80 years of age could easily master. Home owners want only one thing on lawn day ..........GET THE TRIMMER OUT &  GET ER DONE !!

  2. Update ! ( yes, Im the inventor mentioned above )  This concept was recently awarded a ' provisional ' patent . After a lengthy and exhaustive patent search, nothing was even remotely close. Patent attorney was even impressed with the concept and during research noted that there was little progress made in this area of expertise. Most of the prior art listed with the patent office were old designs by individuals attempting to ' improve ' current trimmer hub designs presently manufactured today and also noted several retro-fit system conversion kits like you see on television. It took a lot of outside the box think tanking to solve the ' dreaded gas trimmer cord jamming problem. The few people that fully understand the concept strongly feel that this is the first real breakthrough in trimmer technology since 'WeedEater' introduced the first trimmer 40 years ago. By the way, how many electric and gas trimmers sold in stores today that can hold several feet of continuous length cutting string with the 100% garauntee that it will never jam in its service life ?  Those large trimmer companies refuse to listen to the concept thus far. Think I bruised a few ego's ?  Maybe I should concentrate on a smaller manufacturer that really wants to shake up the lawn and garden industry. What do you think ?
