FM3 and owning land in Mexico via trust?

who knows about this. The FIDU company want me to have an FM3. I just "own land" don't want to live in Mexico until I retire. Any suggestions?

  1. I don't think there is any point in having an FM3 if you are not going to live in Mexico. Besides, after your FM3 expired in one year I don't think you could get it renewed if you've been out of the country too many days in a year.

    That's my understanding of things anyway. Of course 10 different people will tell you 10 different things.


  2. You do not need an FM-3 to own in Mexico, but you will sure want to have it before you sell. Here are some pages from my website that may help;

    The only 'trust' you need is in the restricted zones

    Normally in Mexico you pay cash, especially for land without a house.   If you are financing I can see them having these different requirements
