  1. Hi,

I haven't being there. But have got some links that will help your trekking trip to Andes.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andes

    http://www.andes.org.uk/andes-informatio...

    http://www.south-america-travel-advice.c...

These will help you to know the climate, clothing, camping equipment, food etc.

And if you ever wish for trekking in India you can visit this site: http://www.intoindia.com/trekking.html

to know about various trekking treks available in India. These treks ranges from easy treks to demanding treks. You can plan for a tailor made trip http://www.intoindia.com/tailor.asp also. If you wish to visit India in a group, then there is group discount also available.

  2. I go trekkin in the Andes once a year. The best time is around July and the best area is in the region of Huaraz. I usually use a local guide that I contacted through the "Casa de Guias" .

I don't know your expertize, but if you're new to it, try the santa Cruz Trek. If you're a pro, try the Huayhuash trek. done both and they were amazing.
