After winning the toss, England decided to field first hoping to have a clear target to chase while batting second against the formidable South African bowling arsenal. The South African openers provided an opening stand of 31 runs to their side as both
batsmen Quinton de Kock and Keaton http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kent-c802 Jennings exhibited tremendous batting temperament against the English rivals.
Skipper Jennings, after facing 14 deliveries managed to score five runs before he was caught by wicketkeeper Samuel Kelsall off a delivery by left-arm pacer Adam James Ball.
The left-handed batsman Gihahn Love Cloete, who had come at number three failed to stand against the English pacers as he perished after scoring just a run.
However, the South Africans managed to control the situation when Shaylin Pillay came on the crease as he alongside Quinton de Kock managed to form a dangerous partnership, giving the English a run for their money as the batsmen smacked remarkable shots
all around the park.
Kock with a flamboyant attitude scored 40 runs off 44 which that included hitting five fabulous boundaries which left the bowlers in dismay. The batsman was removed by Brett Alan Hutton who shattered his stumps by bowling a superb delivery.
Shaylin Pillay then lost his wicket after playing an inspirational knock of 30 runs off 70 deliveries as he edged a delivery by Peter Burgoyne for wicketkeeper Kelsal to pounce on.
Just when things seemed to be going awry for the Proteas, Arthur James Norman Price pulled off a stunning innings by 48 runs off 64 deliveries, preventing his side from a total collapse. In the end the South Africans could manage to post only 177 runs on
the board to defend against the hosts.

displayed superb hitting all around the park.

skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Ball-c41883 completely failed to stop the ball from hitting the stumps.
With the skipper gone on nil, things were certainly looking bad for the home side, however, the late heroics by Kishen Shailesh Velani saved the day for England as he smacked 54 runs off 68 deliveries.
In the end Jamie Overton (25) and Reece James William Topley (4) saw their side to victory as England posted 181 runs in response to the South African total.
