The medium-pacer has been a vital part of the Pune Warriors’ bowling attack during the current 5th edition of the Indian Premier League, and has been a consistent performer, with at least one wicket to his name in every match he has played. During
the team’s season opener against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians on April 6, he claimed a vital 4 for 18 which enabled his side to claim a 28-run win.
He went on to claim 1 for 13 in their next match against the Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833, and has taken one wicket in each match he has played so far.
However, his international experience is fairly limited, with his career spanning just 7 ODIs, and a Test debut yet to materialise. Despite this, Donald feels that with time and patience, the right-armer could develop into an exciting bowling prospect for
India.
“We all want to stack up the numbers [wickets] but there is a patient process to follow and that for me will make him a big time contender in the Indian team.”
Moving on to comment on the 28-year-old’s bowling action, Donald claimed that he had no reservations regarding Dinda’s jump, and even went on to add that he reminded him of himself.
“I too had to get off the ground high enough to snap very hard at the crease,” he explained.
However, as opposed to the bright future Donald foresees for Dinda, the Pune Warriors are currently in a vulnerable position during the ongoing IPL5, and are placed at number 7 on the points table, third place from last, with just 4 out of 9 victories to
their credit. Their next match is scheduled to take place against the Deccan Chargers on May 1 in Cuttack.
