Domenico Criscito on his way to SSC Napoli from Genoa CFC – Serie A Update
Genoa defender, Domenico Criscito, might be on his way to Naples to join SSC Napoli ahead of the upcoming 2011/12 season. The 24-year-old left-back was formerly owned by Juventus and came to Genoa in 2008 on a loan transfer, which was later converted into
a permanent contract in 2009. The Azzurri regular is regarded as a great addition to the left side of the field.
The Griffins were offered 6 million Euros to obtain 50 percent rights of the Italian international. The two clubs are reported to be close to finalizing a deal for the summer switch, however, the player’s agent, Andrea D’Amico, showed little knowledge of
the transfer.
“I know that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 are interested in the player, but I’ve not spoken in depth with them about the possibility of a transfer,” stated the agent.
Italian news network, Sky Sport Italia, has reported that the Criscito’s agent would meet the Partenopei officials in the coming week and would discuss the terms for the transfer.
On the other hand, Criscito played for the Italian national team recently where they lost 2-0 to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Republic-of-Ireland-c2987. The player is considering the transfer offer and is happy to be linked with a club like Napoli. While talking to the Radio CRC, the young
left-back said:
“I certainly like Napoli, as it’s a place that breathes football. Next term they’ll be in the Champions League and I hope they can do even better than this season.”
The Italian footballer initially played as a centre-back for Juventus, but was later moved to the left side of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 upon his move to Genoa CFC. The player is willing to move back to his old position should the Neapolitans ask him to switch. However,
the player added that it has been a long time since he took to the centre of the defence.
“If I did come to Napoli, then I would be willing to change position, as if Walter Mazzarri wanted me to, I could adapt to a centre-back role. I haven’t played there in four years, but it shouldn’t be a problem,” concluded Criscito.
Napoli are also tracking Gokhan Inler from the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Udinese-Calcio-c40789 and are likely to succeed in luring the player to San Paolo.
