Domain accounts will not keep changes?

Question

I set up several accounts on my Windows Server 2008 computer. They log in successfully from other computers on my network. However, when I make a change on an account such as the desktop background or make a folder or save a file, and then log off and log on to that account from another machine, The Desktop background is not changed, the folder is not there, and the file is not there! This may sound stupid, but are domains designed to save files and settings and access them from any computer? I believe they are. Do I have to do anything else? I can post more details if required. did you forget to set up the roaming profile options??
