Do you think it Is better to buy a .com or .co.uk for a small business i am setting up in the UK?

Hi, im in the process of setting up a small businessin london, and would just like to know if it is better to buy a .com or .co.uk to attract customers?and is there any difference in the way my website will be listed in search engines?

  1. There's no difference in the way it would be listed in search engines.

    It's a matter of personal preference.  I went with a .com instead of a .co.uk because I hold two citizenships and like the 'global' aspect of a .com.


  2. if i was searching for something on the net i would look at .com before looking at .co.uk,,,,,i dont no about your listings,,,,,,,,,,

  3. Unless you expect most of your business from outside the UK, you should use .co.uk, this will quickly indicate to customers that you are in the UK. (Many people only want to deal with companies with their own country.) This will also cause search engines, when they get a search from the UK, to put you higher the list. Since you are a small business you don't really want to compete with the rest of the world for customers (just try to get as many UK customers as you can).
