Do rats and guinea pigs get along?

I have a guinea pig, but she needs a friend. Everyone says to get another guinea pig, but i really want a rat, would my guinea pig and a rat get along?

no u shouldnt because i tried tht and my guinea pig bit the rat and KILLED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say no. I have 4 rats and my friends have g pigs maybe you can introduce them at floor for a few min  and keep a very close eye on them. But NEVER put them together by themselfs. Both rats and g pigs have bad eyes and they could hurt each other and not mean to. But rats do make great pets and you can get some and put them in different cages near each other.
