Do I put Yours Faithfully or Regards?

I'm writing to our MP to invite him to an invent... What do I close it with? Regards? Yours faithfully? Yours sincerely?

  1. Regards, as it is less personal and more formal, more professional.

    Yours faithfully/sincerely is the type of thing which people write to people they are less formal with.


  2. Writing "yours faithfully" is obsolete these days as it was a common practice in the olden days of British Empire. Remember,  there is a difference between a mere servant and an employee.

    As an employee, you should write "Regards".
