  1. Yes Catholics consider themselves Christians. Catholicism in fact was the only established Christian religion for a thousand years. The word Catholic (which means universal) was used after the protestant reformation started. Catholics follow the pope's leadership which is what Jesus was said to have established. If anything, Protestants should be questioning themselves if they are Christian since they seperated from the church which Jesus founded by historical fact. Not to mention the hundreds of recorded miracles caught on tape which come in the name of the Catholic church. You could literally go on google and type in Catholic miracles, find a reliable website, and get the proof. Which is why I really dont get the Protestant religion at all even though the Catholic Church does recognize their Baptism. Also, Protestants believe only Christians get into heaven while Catholics believe that anyone who follows God to the extent of his knowledge will recieve eternal happiness. You would not punish a child who did not know it was doing wrong. Hope I helped.
