November 5th guy fawkes day or Bonfire night/ Fireworks night

From October to like December shops will sell loads of fireworks but on November the 5th is when its purposely meant to be the night for them.

BUT

When I was young we all would just buy fireworks and set them off at street level at eachother called it fireworks war thrown them at the police. In my area you could just be walking and a firework goes off behind you and youll have to run cause they follow you I dunno how

Ive seen them thrown in shops, buses, trains, supermarkets, playgrounds, through letter boxes everywhere.

I beleive November 5th is actually the day for youths to go crazy with fireworks even though you have to be 18 to buy them every shop in my area will sell it to you. Its encouraging widespread arson, assault and vandalism I barely see my friends aim them in the sky

It might be fun at a young age but who would want a firework thrown through their letter box setting off in their living room I saw it was crazy colorfull lights and smoke coming out the window luky no one was in

Do you celebrate guy fawkes day?

If so What do you think of it?

  1. WHAT??! You have SOOOOOO exaggerated! There is the odd idiot and gangs of youths can be stupid with fireworks, but firing them at each other??? How old are you, exactly? Because, unless you didn't realise, firing a firework AT someone could kill them. Unless you live in the roughest area in Britain EVER, I think you are telling porkies. I mean, posting them through letterboxes would set the house on fire - it was in the paper today, actually (Sat. Nov. 7th) that a woman died after saving her son from a fire that was caused by a gang of yobs pushing a firework through the letterbox. If it got into the news I don't think it's exactly common, is it? It isn't like most people have had fireworks thrown at them, like you're making out. Americans are posting to say that Brits are really violent! You've just made a complete fool of yourself in front of British people, who know you're lying, and a complete fool of Britain for the people overseas who may actually believe you. If you're so against bonfire night then perhaps you should report these stupid friends of yours to the police and make your dreadful village or wherever you live a much safer place.

  2. soz but you've slightly exagerated there. I've actually not heard of any violent stories like you've said for years....obviously you get the odd prat but you get that everywhere. definitely not on the scale you've made it out to be, whether intentionally or not. Anyway think its just a british thing...
