Creactive ways for college essays?

The topic is "Topic of your choice (that says something about you and your interests)"

So...how can i write it in a creative way without making it look at a resume....

The college essay is a real pain. I had something similar when applying to my undergrad schools. What I did was create a fictional piece with a character that is you, only thinly-veiled. And wrote about living for one day. Doing your normal routine, maybe add a brief dream sequence detailing your fantasy.
